A pool may be established which could be used to staff similar or identical temporary or permanent positions with various language requirements/profiles, and conditions of employment in various locations across Canada.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program with a specialization in a field relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Recent experience conducting environmental measurements
Recent experience acquiring data from lab and/or field instruments
Recent experience in performing basic operation, calibration and maintenance of environmental measurement and sampling instrumentation
(*Recent within the last 5 years)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment used to measure atmospheric parameters
Experience in the preparation and handling of media used for sample collection for trace chemical analysis
Experience in scientific instrument operation and troubleshooting in a laboratory environment
Experience writing computer programs for data acquisition
Experience in troubleshooting electronics and instrumentation
Experience in database management of large datasets, including QA/QC of results
Experience creating Excel VBA macros
English essential
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of the principles of environmental sampling
Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures related to conducting environmental measurements.
Knowledge of computer technology methods for data collection and transfer
Knowledge of Health and Safety principles related to field operations in remote locations.
ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to plan, organize and implement projects, including organizing and prioritizing workload.
Ability to use software to perform basic statistical analysis, manipulate data and create reports.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment or instrumentation.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to move equipment and supplies weighing up to approximately 30 Kg.
Willingness and ability to work irregular hours and/or overtime, including weekends and holidays
Willingness to participate in field work for periods of days to weeks, totaling up to on average two months during each year
Willingness to travel to and work at field sites including in remote environments in extreme weather conditions and in rough terrain

Possession of a valid driver's license.
A written exam may be administered.
