Intent of the process

This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis. A qualified pool of candidates will be established and used to staff these positions and similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Proof of education will be required prior to appointment.

Degree equivalency

Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail.

Experience in using computer applications including two of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets or word processing.

Experience in receiving and recording enquiries or requests for assistance.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school education.

Degree equivalency

Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices.

Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.

Experience working with Aboriginal communities.

Experience transcribing and/or ability to transcribe statements from audio cassettes or digital media.

Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).
