Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a Master’s degree in library science or in library and information science
Experience using a cataloguing module of an integrated library system.
Experience in applying metadata to various resources.
Various language requirements
Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB and French Essential
Information on language requirements
Knowledge of the mandate of Library and Archives Canada relating to published heritage.
Knowledge of the descriptive standard Resource Description and Access (RDA).
Knowledge of Library of Congress Subject Headings, Canadian Subject Headings and the Répertoire de vedettes-matière.
Knowledge of classification systems such as Library of Congress Classification and Dewey Decimal System classification.
Knowledge of current trends in library cataloguing and metadata sharing.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Experience working in the Canadian publishing industry.
