• Successful completion of an engineering diploma program or an engineering degree from a recognized institute Or, successful completion of a red seal trade or technical diploma/certification with significant and recent* engineering project management experience of Real Property Assets.
*Significant is defined as on a weekly basis over the past 6 months and recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
• Significant and recent* experience working on projects comprised of planning, design, construction and renovation of infrastructure; structures and buildings.
• Experience in preparing work scopes, developing work plans, and prioritizing projects.
• Significant and recent* Experience in preparing project documents such as: specifications, requests for proposal, statement of work and project briefings.
• Experience in asset procurement or purchasing of specialized equipment to support laboratory or operational facilities such as fish hatcheries, science laboratories, coast guard sites and conservation and protection sites.
*Significant is defined as on a weekly basis over the past year and recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
Eligibility for registration as a CTech, AScT or EIT from Applied Science Technologist & Technicians of British Columbia or a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience in surveying and operations of a site or station.
• Experience in the use of AutoCAD.
• Experience working with and coordinating federal infrastructure projects
• Experience in planning, hiring consultants, managing contracts, and monitoring contractors.
• Experience conducting consultation processes at a project level with the First Nations.
• Experience delivering and coordinating projects on remote sites with access challenges.
• Experience managing projects in partnerships with and maintaining relationships with the first nations.
• Recent* experience in Database management and Excel
*recent is defined as within the last 5 years.

Knowledge of DFO/CCG Real Property facility operations, infrastructure maintenance practices and procedures, and infrastructure upgrade projects (Salmonid Enhancement Sites, Coast Guard Sites, Conservation and, or Protection Sites, Major Facilities).
• Security Clearance: Reliable.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Willing and able to work weekends/overtime and travel on short notice.
• Willing and able to access remote sites over rugged terrain and work in extremes of environmental conditions on land and at sea.
• Willing and able to travel in small aircraft, boats and vehicles.
