The Junior Interior Designer will be brought to draw conceptual design plans with the AutoCad software. He/She will also support planning and guide office fit-up projects. In addition, he/she will coordinate and support the preparation of contractual documentation.
This position will allow to be an integral part of office fit-up projects by supporting the Design managers as well as managing smaller projects.

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within PSPC with various tenures. Appointments may also be held in Ottawa, Ontario. The pool can be used to staff positions with various language requirements and various security requirements.

Education:
Successful completion of an acceptable post-secondary educational program of at least 3 years in the field of interior design or architectural technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience *.
* Definition of acceptable combination: Candidates who do not meet the minimum education required must have at least 5 years’ experience in providing professional interior design services, education and (or) training related to interior design.
Experience:
1. Experience in participating on multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of interior design projects.
2. Experience in assisting in project planning, including activities and projects.
3. Experience in participating in the preparation of scopes of work and fees proposal for multi-disciplinary projects.
4. Experience in working with AutoCAD*.
*AutoCAD experience is defined as having at least three (3) years of experience within the last ten (10) years including experience gained while training.

Bilingual Imperative – Level: BBB/BBB and english essential.

1. Knowledge of interior design project management in the speciality of office accommodation fit-up.
2. Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards and zoning types for projects located in the NCA. (National Capital Area).

Asset qualifications:
1. Additional education or certification related to project management and/or interior design.
2. Experience in providing Design Advisory services for consultant delivered projects.
3. Experience in working independently on projects of a generally small scale with low to medium complexity and risk profile.
Operational Requirements:
Willingness to work overtime.
Willingness to travel frequently on sites such as among customers, consultants, suppliers, etc.
Reliability Status security clearance
Other condition of employment:
Willingness and ability to work in and around construction sites, including wearing protective equipment.
