Work environment

The Bureau offers challenging careers. We seek individuals who can work in multi-disciplinary teams and are comfortable conducting investigations pursuant to the merger provisions of the Competition Act. The Bureau’s Competition Law Officers will pool their expertise in performing research and analysis under the Competition Act, preparing requests for information, conducting interviews with market participants, assessing the competitive impact of proposed transactions, writing reports and making recommendations to senior management. Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill five (5) positions. At least one (1) of the positions may be in Toronto.

A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to fill similar positions at the Competition Bureau, for :

* various tenures (indeterminate or term),
* various language requirements (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential) and/or
* various security requirements (Enhanced Reliability and Secret).

EDUCATION:
Currently enrolled in* or completed a Master’s degree in economics from a recognized post-secondary institution.

NOTE:
*Course work must be completed successfully by August 31, 2018.

Degree equivalency

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
High cumulative grade point average.
Course(s) in industrial organization during the course of university studies.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience conducting econometric analysis.
