As a Senior Surveyor, you will provide professional surveying advice and technical expertise to a variety of government clients and you will assist other survey professionals and the public on all aspects of the Canada Lands Surveys System. You may conduct field surveys and will prepare survey requirements for contracting of legal surveys. You will work as part of a team to resolve complex boundary and land tenure issues using your extensive surveying background and detailed historical research of survey related documents.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada in Vancouver, BC at the EN-SUR-03 group and level with:

►Authority to practice as a land surveyor in British Columbia as a practicing member of the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors.
►Approximately 2 years of experience practicing as a British Columbia Land Surveyor.

►Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice with a focus towards cadastral surveying.
►A Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND licence to practice issued by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors.
NOTE: If the successful candidate does not hold a Canada Lands Surveyors commission and license to practice, he/she will be required to obtain a Canada Lands Surveyor's commission and licence to practice within 2 years of appointment to the position.

Operational Requirements:
►Willing and able to work overtime as required.

Reliability Status security clearance - This factor is not used at the screening stage. The hiring department is responsible for the security clearance process.
