A covering letter and resume MUST be submitted when applying for this selection process. It is your responsibility as a candidate to submit a cover letter that clearly explains and substantiates, in detail, how you meet each of the essential and asset qualifications (for education and experience) associated with the positions for which you are applying. Please note it is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. You must provide concrete examples, which illustrate how you meet each qualification.

Please use the wording of each qualification as a header and then write HOW, WHERE and WHEN (M-Y to M-Y) you obtained the experience. The resume will be considered a secondary source which could be used to validate the education and experience described in the cover letter. Failure to provide this information in the requested format may result in your application being rejected.

Please note that your cover letter and resume may be used to partially assess the ability to “communicate effectively in writing”.

Random selection may be used to identify which applicants will be assessed in this appointment process.

A pass mark will be established for each essential qualification. Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, organizational requirements, or operational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be used as a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
