EDUCATION:

Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution* in economics, business or public administration, or in another discipline relevant to the position.

* Recognized post-secondary institution: Public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :

1) Experience leading the development and implementation of horizontal, complex intra-and inter-departmental and multi-stakeholders initiatives.

2) Experience working in the private sector in management roles and/or in academia related to Canada’s innovation system.

3) Experience establishing strategic partnerships at the most senior levels with federal government departments and agencies, other levels of government, and other governments and international agencies.

4) Experience setting direction and providing sensitive analysis and advice to senior officials (such as Deputy Minister, Assistant Deputy Minister, President, Vice-President) on Innovation programs, as well as other programs.

5) Experience in managing complex human ** and Financial *** resources.

** Human resources management: Applicants must clearly demonstrate they have recruited and supervised staff, assigned work, managed and assessed performance and developed staffing plans. Applicants must indicate the number of staff they have supervised.

*** Management of financial resources: Applicants must show evidence of managing and being accountable for a budget for one (1) complete fiscal year. This experience is defined as being responsible for sound financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget the managed directly.
