Duties

Senior Analysts on the RCMP Pension Services team conduct research and analysis on complex and sensitive policy issues that impact our active and retired police officers, civilian members, and their families. They develop innovative solutions, and provide recommendations to decision-makers. They work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and other government departments to modernize pension policy and continuously improve the benefits and services provided to our members.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two positions on an indeterminate basis, with linguistic profiles of English Essential and Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

EDUCATION:
-Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Part A Notes:
1.Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
2.An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
-Experience in providing briefings and recommendations to decision-makers on the interpretation of policies, guidelines, legislation, or regulations.
-Experience in the preparation of a variety of documents including 2 or more of the following: briefing materials, policy documents, cabinet documents or Treasury Board Submissions.
-Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

-Possess or be in process of completing a Master’s Degree with acceptable specialization in the field of economics, public administration/ policy, or business administration.

Conditions of employment
