• Possession of a Nova Scotia *C01 Mobile Crane License or other Province equivalent.
* Must be licensed to operate a mobile crane with a capacity of 100 Tons or greater.
• Possession of a valid NS Provincial (or other Province equivalent) Class 3 Drivers License with a condition 3 (Air Brake) endorsement and a Condition 15 (Trailers over 4500 Kg) endorsement, OR possession of a valid NS Provincial (or other Province equivalent) Class 1 Drivers License with a condition 3 (Air Brakes) endorsement.
• An acceptable driver’s abstract dated no earlier than 30 days before the closing date.
Experience in the operation of mobile cranes for 3 of the past 5 years.
• Knowledge of the use of load charts in order to carry out lifts safely.
• Knowledge of standard procedures and safety guidelines related to the safe operations of cranes.
• Knowledge of the international hand signals related to rigging and crane operations.
• Successful completion of secondary education.
• Experience in dry-docking operation.
• Experience in crane operations in a marine environment.
• Experience in the operation of cranes at Fleet Maintenance facility cape Scott
• Experience in supervision.
• Overhead Travel Crane Certificate
• Provincial certification in the operation of cranes - rail or portal.
• Inter-Provincial certification in the operation of cranes - rail or tower or hydraulic mobile.

• Required to climb vertical ladders and work at heights (approximately 100ft)
• Required to wear all appropriate PPE
• Required to work shifts and overtime.
Reliability Status security clearance
• Must be willing and able to acquire and maintain a valid Nova Scotia C01 Mobile Crane License.
• Must be willing and able to acquire and maintain a valid NS Provincial Class 3 Drivers License with condition 15 and condition 3 endorsements or Class 1 with a condition 3 endorsement.
• Must be willing and able to acquire and maintain a Driver Operator Permit (DND404)
• A current acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Medical (Heavy Equipment Operators)
