Duties

The Strategic Business Analyst will be responsible for identifying business needs and solutions within the context of the PSPC and Receiver General and Pension Branch priorities. More specifically, the Strategic Business Analyst is results/solutions driven, able to thrive in a fast paced environment and manage competing priorities and ad-hoc urgent requests.

The position is with the Strategic Planning and Program Management sector within the Receiver General and Pension Branch (RGPB) of Public Services and Procurement Canada. The Sector is responsible for providing advice, strategic and financial analysis and serves as a single-window for all Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions.

Intent of the process

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff three (3) positions at indeterminate at English or French essential or Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC level with a Secret or Reliability Status clearance, applicants should be aware that a pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions (such as Indeterminate, Assignments, Secondments, Specific Periods and Acting Assignments with various language requirements (English or French Essential, Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB and CBC/CBC) and various security requirements (Reliability and Secret) within Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES :

EX1 - Experience in providing advice and recommendations to senior managers on policies and various issues;

EX2 - Experience in working, developing and fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders and partners;

EX3 - Experience in aggregating and analyzing large volumes of information and recommending a course of action and reporting on results;

EX4 - Experience in conducting research or analysis on policy, program or strategic planning issues.
