Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY SELECTION PROCESS
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified/pre-qualified candidates that will be used to staff bilingual imperative positions BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC at Transport Canada.

Your résumé.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group; OR

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in analyzing financial information and preparing reports or written assessments and recommendations from the results for management.

• Recent* and significant** work experience in one (1) or more of the following three (3) areas:
- Financial Planning and Budgeting;
- Financial Policy Development or Interpretation;
- Financial Systems Development, Implementation or Maintenance;

*Recent experience is within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately 15 months.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
• A recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (i.e. CA, CMA, CGA or CPA).
• Experience in preparing, analyzing and/or evaluating project and funding proposals.
• Experience in developing, implementing or interpreting financial policies or procedures.
• Experience in implementing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting or testing of integrated financial systems or business intelligence tools.
• Experience in developing or providing financial policy, procedures or systems training
• Knowledge of reporting cycle for the Government of Canada expenditures

Degree equivalency

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Some positions may require willingness to work overtime on short notice.
• Some positions may require willingness to travel occasionally.
