Duties

Professional, operational, advice and services on the development, enhancement, allocation, promotion and environmentally sustainable use of living aquatic resources in commercial, scientific, recreational, Aboriginal and international fisheries and aquaculture enterprises in the Region.

Intent of the process

The current need is to staff a permanent position in Cap-aux-Meules (Magdalen Islands). A pool of candidates will be created as a result of this process and could be used to fill opportunities of different tenures for identical positions within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans - Quebec Region (such as : Gaspé, Sept-Îles, Cap-aux-Meules and Québec), with various linguistic profiles and various security requirements which may vary according to the position being staffed.

STUDIES

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in a field related to the position, such as biology, ecology, aquatic resource management, economics or another field related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience in analyzing and interpreting data regarding natural OR environmental OR scientific resources.

STUDIES

Master's degree from a recognized university with specialization in a field related to the position, such as biology, ecology, aquatic resource management, economics or another field related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES

Work experience in involving Aboriginal client groups or other non-government stakeholder organizations, such as the fishing industry or other governments;

Experience in fishery OR natural resource management;

Experience in processing and analyzing statistical data;

Experience in processing and analyzing geospatial data.
