To fill one term position.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions within Elections Canada in the National Capital Region only, with various tenures (various specified periods or indeterminate).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education

A degree from a recognized university in a field related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Incumbents of IS positions who do not possess the formal education prescribed are deemed to meet the university graduation standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever a bachelor's degree without any specialization is called for in a position classified as IS.

Degree equivalency

Experience

Recent* and significant** experience in English-language editing of general or specialized texts (including those of an administrative, financial or legal nature) for various audiences.
Recent* and significant** experience in French-to-English comparative editing of general or specialized texts (including those of an administrative, financial or legal nature) for various audiences.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the past five years.
**Significant means at least three years of experience.

A degree from a recognized university with specialization in English literature, linguistics or translation.

Recent* translation or writing experience in English.
