The student must be willing to start the work term in December 2017. It is expected that the student work 15 hours per week. The duration for this work term is for a 4 month period, ending March 31, 2018.
$18.91 to $23.78 per hour (Varies as per the level of education and experience.)

Duties

The successful candidate will assist in the development of methods to improve modelling of vegetation in soil moisture retrieval algorithms using microwave remote sensing. The candidate will provide guidelines on the parameterization of vegetation in these models. Progress and productivity will be subject to periodic review.

Currently enrolled as of December 2017 in a master’s program from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in geography, physics, engineering or related science fields

Degree equivalency

Minimum of at least six months experience in each of the following three areas:
Experience manipulating, interpreting, processing and/or analyzing remote sensing data
Experience conducting research involving the use of remote sensing signals
Experience using at least one geospatial professional software package (such as ESRI/Arc GIS, PCI, Matlab, R)
