Duties

Provide general labourer duties with respect to assisting various tradesmen and Inventory control to support the Facilities Management group at the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre.

As one of the 20 research sites in Canada, this Maintenance Labourer position is located within the Lethbridge site. The Lethbridge site is responsible for conducting various agricultural research studies for the Government of Canada. This position will support the delivery of these by helping maintain a healthy work flow for the science community by providing support to our Journeymen staff in accomplishing assigned tasks.

Intent of the process

Immediate need: To staff 2 Maintenance Labourer positions on a full time temporary basis at the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre.

Anticipatory: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent full-time or part-time basis or on a temporary full-time or part-time basis for the location indicated for this process.

In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience in assisting tradesmen with various duties including shelving installation, snow removal, lighting repairs, Heating/Ventilation maintenance and repairs in a commercial/industrial environment

Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) or equivalent.

Knowledge of maintenance operations including shelving installation, snow removal, lighting repairs, Heating/Ventilation maintenance and repairs.
