Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 6 positions on an indeterminate basis (4 full time positions, 2 part time positions - 22.5 hours per week), with various linguistic profiles and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various bilingual linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) of the RCMP be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

-Significant* experience working in a law enforcement or security environment conducting complex and/or sensitive** investigations.
-Experience in analyzing information obtained from multiple sources for the purposes of performing risk assessments.
-Experience conducting complex investigative interview.

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired with the execution of a diverse range of complex activities. This includes the extent, depth, complexity and diversity of tasks and cases and the degree of autonomy from those activities. Applicants must clearly demonstrate their roles and responsibilities relating to the experience.

**Sensitive matters may include areas such as: Code of Conduct Investigations; Harassment Investigations; Administrative Review for Cause Investigations; Internal Audits; Personnel Security Investigations; and/or other subjects of sensitive nature.

Post-secondary degree/certification in criminology/law enforcement or equivalent.

Degree equivalency

-Recent*** experience preparing brief and concise reports and making recommendations on security-related or sensitive matters**.

***Recent experience refers to the performance of duties within the past 5 years.

-Knowledge of the Policy on Government Security.
-Knowledge of the Treasury Board Standard on Security Screening.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - RCMP Top Secret Clearance

The successful applicant will have to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance. This process requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of criminal activities, credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Must be willing to travel and work overtime, when required.

Other information

Reference checks may be sought.

A simulation/situational exercise or role play may be administered.

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
