Intent of the process

Intent to fill 1 indeterminate position. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions or for future term, acting, assignment, secondment or indeterminate opportunities.

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM); for various positions with various tenures, various security profiles and various language requirements.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a PS be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience providing advice and guidance to clients

Experience in the following computer applications: Excel, Power Point, and Word

Extensive* experience working within a database (experience should include running reports, data entry, analyzing and providing recommendations or correcting errors)
*Extensive is defined as the depth and breadth of experience acquired for at least one year.

PROS IM certified

Experience in the use of CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre)

Experience in providing data quality review

Experience in organizing and providing training sessions (individual or small groups)

Assessment for this process will take place in Thompson, Manitoba. The cost to attend the assessment will be the candidate's responsibility. If you are currently employed with the Federal Public Service, please let us know your current group and level as well as your tenure and the Department you are working for. Housing in this location may be difficult to obtain. It is the candidate’s responsibility to research this location.

You MUST clearly demonstrate in writing how you meet the Language, Education, and Experience requirements. Provide examples and describe the work/duties you have performed. Failure to do so may result in your application not being considered further during the screening process.

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.

The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Reliability Status. The candidate must not have a Criminal Record. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

Successful candidates(s) must meet and maintain the Conditions of Employment throughout their employment.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies, similar positions, for term, permanent and acting, at full or part time hours within the area of selection.

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
