Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff four indeterminate, full-time GS-STS-04 positions and one indeterminate, full-time GS-STS-04 C2 position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate, term, deployment, assignment, secondment, acting, or casual basis.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

• Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in working in a warehouse.
• Experience in the operation of Material Handling Equipment and its care, including safety practices and procedures.
• Experience in using a computer terminal in an automated system.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

• Forklift Certification
• Possession of one or more of the following qualifications:
- Control of Hazmat
- Hazmat: Packaging
- Dangerous Goods

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in procurement procedures and purchasing with a government acquisition card.
• Experience in using Supply related computer software such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or other equivalent Supply computer programs.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge and practices involved in the use of personal protective equipment and clothing.
• Knowledge of WHMIS, Fire Safety Regulations or handling of hazardous material.
• Knowledge of loading capacities for various modes of transportation (such as flat decks, sea containers, aircraft, trucks).

ABILITY:

• Ability to use a variety of computer software for word processing and spreadsheets.
• Ability to collect and manage large amounts of data/information associated from/with multiple projects.

Organizational Needs

Operational Requirements

• Candidates may be required on occasion to work overtime and/or weekends.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

• Some positions may require Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be willing and able to manipulate packages up to 15.9 kg (35 lbs).
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence issued by the province of New Brunswick or equivalent from another province.
• Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 Driver/Operator Permit.
• Must be willing and able to travel for training purposes (occasionally for extended periods of time).
• Must be willing and able to attend applicable trade training courses as selected and scheduled by the employer.
