The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) is a central agency located in the National Capital Region. TBS’s new flagship facility at 90 Elgin Street, in the heart of downtown Ottawa, is the hub of its activities. The new building meets the government’s Workplace 2.0 concept, has Wi-Fi throughout, and has many fully equipped videoconference areas to support collaboration and innovation. Employees have access to amenities such as showers, change rooms and secure bicycle storage, allowing them to commute using Ottawa’s bike path system.
The initial intent of this process is to offer an indeterminate position.
A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process maybe created and may be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles (English essential, French essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, ) as well as tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) which may vary according to the position being staffed.
This pool may be used to staff similar positions in other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm).

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education
-Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Experience
-Experience in the delivery of open source tools using for example, Drupal, Python, or PHP services within an organization;
-Significant* experience in developing supporting open source tools, services, or resources for use by organizations;
-Significant* experience with open source initiatives across Canada;
-Experience in implementing open source standards or guidelines;
-Experience in supporting, participating in, or leading open source committees and working groups.
Significant* is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of those duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.
