Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenure, linguistic and security requirements within the Federal Public Service in the National Capital Region.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma OR an employer-approved alternatives. (See note 1)

Note 1: A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma: OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1. Recent* and significant** experience in project management;
E2. Recent* and significant** experience in conducting User Acceptance Testing;
E3. Recent* and significant** experience in providing technical e-services guidance to clients on web-based applications and databases;
E4. Recent* and significant** experience collecting, analyzing and presenting data and statistics from multiple sources of information to senior managers*** and staff;
E5. Experience in liaising with technical support staff as well as external clients.

* Recent experience is defined as having been acquired within the last three (3) years.
** Significant experience is defined as depth and breadth of experience that would normally be associated with the performance of the duties as a major function for one (1) year.
***Senior management is defined as Director General and above.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EA1. Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in a specialty relevant to the position being staffed;
EA2. Experience in developing training tools;
EA3. Recent and significant experience in the use of databases and spreadsheets, particularly in extracting information, conducting research and/or running queries;
EA4. Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

You will be required to show how you meet the EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE requirements for both the ESSENTIAL and ASSET QUALIFICATIONS, if applicable, for the initial screening through your résumé and in answering online screening questions. Depending on the number of candidates, CIPO’s needs and CIPO Human Resource plans, volume management strategies such as, but not limited to, top-down selection process, cut-off scores, random selection and/or assessment may be used for the purpose of managing applications/candidates. Preference may be given to candidates based on the depth and breadth of their experience.
