Intent of the process

A pool of candidates will be established to staff a position on an indeterminate basis. This pool may be used to staff similar positions in Moncton, New Brunswick.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a recognized post secondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, Category M2.

EXPERIENCE:
Three years of recent* experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, category M1 and/ or M2, maintaining fixed wing aircraft.

*Recent is defined as within the last four years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maintenance type training and/or experience maintaining the following aircraft: Dash 8
- Maintenance type training and/or experience maintaining the following aircraft: Cessna Citation II

KNOWLEGE:
- Knowledge of Canadian civil airworthiness requirements as they pertain to maintenance performed on aircraft and aeronautical products.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.

ABILITIES:
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance - CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
- Possession of a valid Canadian Passport.
- Available and willing to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends.
- Willing and able to perform work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
- For some positions, successful completion of medical examinations as prescribed by Health Canada when required.
- For some positions, willingness to perform flight engineer duties on aircraft operating away from base.
- For some positions, willing and capable to travel for extended periods up to 6 weeks.
