Applicants will be considered in the following order:
(1) Those who identify themselves as Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement (i.e. Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement);
(2) If there are no qualified Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement, all other applicants will be considered for these positions.
This selection process may be limited to candidates who are Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. This organizational need can be applied at any step in the selection process. When there are sufficient applicants who are Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement, the manager has the discretion to assess and appoint those individuals first and then assess and appoint other candidates into any remaining positions. In other cases, the manager may assess all applicants at the same time and apply the organizational need criteria on a case by case basis when a Nunavut Inuk is found qualified.

Law degree from a recognized university
Experience in practicing the law in at least one of the three subject areas: aboriginal law, administrative law, or public law

Membership in good standing in a Law Society of one of the Provinces or Territories of Canada
Eligibility for membership in the Law Society of Nunavut within a specified period of time

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:
Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement (e.g. Beneficiaries of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement) who are found qualified in this staffing process will be appointed ahead of other qualified applicants.
