Duties

The purpose of this process is to staff one English Essential BI-02 for an (18) month term position with possibility of extension. The candidate will provide support for several Research Scientists in the Canadian Forest Service whose areas include Landscape Ecology, Insect Biology, and Carbon dynamics, Wildlife and Wildlife Habitat Modeling, Species Distribution Models

Intent of the process

A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience in Forest Ecology
Experience in conducting statistical analysis
Experience programming in R
