Work Location
Redwater is located about 30 minutes NE of Edmonton, Alberta within Sturgeon County. Home to 2,053 people (based on the 2016 Federal Census) and located only 5 KM north of Alberta’s Industrial Heartland. Redwater has two public schools, which serves students from K to 4 and 5 to 12. A nine-hole golf course, a multi-use recreational facility, a campground, an outdoor swimming pool, a public library, and the world’s largest oil derrick are just some of the attractions located within Redwater. The sand hills natural area which is home to some of the best ATV trails in central Alberta is also located within Redwater. The Redwater Health Center as well as ambulance service and the Redwater Volunteer Fire Department serve the Town of Redwater and surrounding area. This process will initially be used to staff 1 CR-05 position on a full-time indeterminate basis. Qualified pools of candidates will be established and may be used to staff CR-04 and CR-05 positions within the Redwater Detachment.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school (high school) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*
* Proof of education will be required prior to appointment
Experience in the provision of administrative support services including three of the following: data entry, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail
Experience in using computer applications including two of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets or word processing
Experience in receiving and recording enquiries or requests for assistance
Effective written communication
Successful completion of secondary school education
Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment
Experience transcribing and/or ability to transcribe statements from audio cassettes or digital media
Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC)
CR-05 assets only:
Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices
Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages
