This process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates for similar positions with various tenures (temporary, permanent), at Health Canada, Quebec Region. Should the selected candidate already be a public servant, the pool could also be used for acting appointments or deployments.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Studies:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in microbiology, chemistry or some other specialty related to the position (notably applied sciences, agronomy, environmental sciences, biology).
Experience:
A minimum of twelve (12) months experience in applying provisions of the Pest Control Products Act.
AND/OR
Significant* experience in working with pesticides in a regulatory environment, including, but not limited to, pesticide application, pesticide sales, pesticide research.
AND/OR
Significant* experience in providing advice or guidance based on the interpretation of regulations, policies or operating procedures for regulated products.
*Significant is defined as experience gained over a minimum of a twenty-four (24) month period.

1) Knowledge of the pesticide industry and pest control practices
2) Knowledge of federal or provincial law enforcement procedures and practices

Experience:
Experience related to the use of industrial pest control products (such as biocides, wood treatment products, antimicrobial products)
Experience in leading multiple stakeholder projects.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency compliance monitoring programs

Once the candidates have been assessed and the pool is created, it will not be possible for the candidates in this pool to add additional information regarding merit criteria for future consideration, except for linguistic results. Candidates who have been fully assessed and found to have met all essential qualifications except official language requirements may update their second-language evaluation (SLE) results for as long as the pool is/pools are valid. N.B.: Each candidate can only undergo SLE testing one time within the context of an appointment process; any update to a candidate's linguistic profile must be as a result of subsequent SLE testing done outside of this appointment process.
N.B.: Candidates must meet each essential qualifications to be appointed to the position. A candidate may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications or organizational needs. However, meeting some of these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
