ABOUT HEALTH CANADA
Health Canada is the Federal department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health, while respecting individual choices and circumstances.
The intent is to staff this position via the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program, which aims to strategically increase Aboriginal representation within the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Aboriginal peoples.
Anticipatory. A pool of qualified candidates will be established and used to staff positions of various tenures, including casual, temporary or permanent in Health Canada in Fort Qu'Appelle and Prince Albert.

Operational Requirements
Mobility usually associated with a Class V drivers’ license.
Willingness and ability for frequent travel is required including flying in small aircraft to remote locations and/or lengthy vehicle travel.

The term Aboriginal cultural competency includes knowledge of Aboriginal peoples and refers to the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples from different cultural backgrounds, or in settings where several cultures co-exist. It includes the ability to communicate and understand the culture, and behaviours of other individuals and groups, and to make appropriate recommendations.
