Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY SELECTION PROCESS
This pool will be used to staff positions on a determinate basis for special projects.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

NOTE:
At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in chairing, facilitating, liaising and coordinating meetings with technical groups and business clients.
Experience analyzing requirements and providing advice and guidance on IM/IT matters to various audiences such as clients or management.
Recent* and significant** experience in managing complex*** projects from inception to production

Notes:
* Recent experience is defined as experience normally gained within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired by a person in a position where the performance of these duties are/were the MAIN function *** Complexity is represented by an application of two (2) or more of the following:
- a multi-platform set of technologies requiring integration;
- a multi-tier diverse set of technologies requiring integration;
- a distributed and large user base;
- requirements for high reliability and availability;
- Business or Government mission critical application;
- Involving multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge:
Knowledge of formal and detailed project management frameworks and documentation (e.g. project plan, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)), monitoring project performance and implementation of corrective action
Knowledge of all IT functions involved in Project Planning (e.g. security, architecture, infrastructure\operations, applications development, etc.).
