A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the EN-ENG-03 group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization).
Experience in conducting data or technical analysis.
Experience in solving complex technical problems.
Experience in providing technical advice.
Experience in providing technical support on the engineering implications of program and polices to senior officials, professionals or the general public.
Note: Experience is defined as work-related experience of a minimum of two (2) years acquired following graduation from a post-secondary institution.

Experience in conducting studies or projects relating to mechanical or electrical engineering in commercial/institutional building, or low-rise housing or industrial sectors.
Experience in energy management, such as conducting energy audits/evaluations, or energy performance modelling, or energy retrofits, in the commercial/institutional building, industrial facilities or low-rise housing sector.
Experience in energy benchmarking in the commercial/institutional building, low-rise housing or industrial sector.
Experience with the federal regulatory process.
Experience working with a large number and diverse type of stakeholders, including private sector and national associations.
Experience evaluating technologies that relate to vehicle fuel efficiency, transportation energy use or emissions.
