This process is designed to fill one English essential position in Halifax (Nova Scotia) on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions with similar requirements.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. • Completion of a two-year Architectural, Civil, or Structural engineering technology/technician program from a recognized post-secondary institution, or possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
• Significant experience in providing technical expertise related to the construction or renovation of commercial buildings.
• Significant experience as a key participant on multi-disciplinary teams for projects related to the construction or renovation of commercial buildings.
• Professional designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), Certified Engineering Technician (C.Tech), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
• Experience working with Aboriginal peoples.

Reliability Status security clearance
• Valid driver’s licence required, or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, which may include inclement weather and remote locations, throughout the four Atlantic provinces.
• Willing and able to work on construction sites where there is a requirement to crawl into tight and confined spaces, climb ladders and scaffolding, and walk over unfinished or uneven surfaces.
• Willing and able to work overtime, irregular hours and weekends on occasion.
