Intent of the process

To staff one (1) indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term, acting, and/or indeterminate positons with various security requirements.

Occupational Certification Requirements:
Possession of a valid Master 500 Gross Tonnage
Near Coastal certificate
STCW endorsed
Marine Advanced first aid certificate

Experience:
Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in the navigation and operation of Small Vessels

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

WHMIS

Experience:
Experience operating harbour tugs
Experience in managing personnel
Experience in towing

Ability to adapt to handling harbor tug operations with or without a pilot

Available to work unexpected and scheduled overtime as required

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status
Health Canada and seafarers medical suitable for a seagoing position
The wearing of uniform, safety footwear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory
