Duties

The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out a variety of revenue and expense transactions and processing activities in compliance with central agency policies and procedures, as well as those established by OSFI. Activities include accounts payable, travel and hospitality expense claims processing, payroll file processing, accounts receivable, client invoicing, collections and other general accounting functions.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.), language requirements (English Essential, bilingual imperative), linguistic profiles (CBC/CBC, BBB/BBB, etc.) and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, etc.) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

EDUCATION
1. Successful completion of two (2) years of post-secondary education in accounting or finance

OR

2. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
1. Significant* experience in processing accounts payable transactions, including verifying the accuracy and the integrity of financial coding
2. Significant* experience in preparing journal entries
3. Experience in performing general ledger account reconciliations
4. Experience in providing guidance on financial matters to clients

* Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two years.
