Work environment

The selected candidate will have to carry out research on biology of lactation of dairy cows.

The experiment and experimental analyses will be carried out at DSRDC.

The research affiliate will be required to perform a comprehensive literature review, write experimental protocols, oversee the animal phase of the experiments, perform behavioural observations and laboratory analyses, analyse data, and write reports and scientific articles.

The research affiliate will be supervised by a research scientist.

Currently enrolled or eligible to enrol in a PhD program at Sherbrooke University in biology or equivalent

Degree equivalency

Experience in conducting experiments in animals
Experience working in a research field

Reliability Status security clearance - Each student hired through the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) must meet the security requirements of the position as a condition of employment, and therefore will be asked by the hiring organization to complete security-relevant documents.

Known allergies must be controlled through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication and must not impinge upon the duties to be performed.
Ability and willingness to work in laboratory and/or animal rearing facility environments for extended periods at a time;
Ability and willingness to work outdoors under various weather conditions
Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials under normal safety precautions established in AAFC laboratories.
