Intent of the process

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) with various linguistic profiles (English essential, French or English Essential, BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC) and/or security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

NOTE:

Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in conducting economic, social, or statistical research and analysis in a work or school environment.

Experience analyzing issues, and developing and recommending responses or positions to a superior.

Experience writing complex reports for approval by a superior.

Note: All experience factors will be assessed taking into consideration depth, breadth and relevance.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

A post-secondary degree in a field related to the duties of the position such as the humanities, law, sociology, political science, public administration, history or mediation.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working on issues related to Indigenous peoples and communities (First Nations, Inuit or Métis).

Experience working on public policy issues in a work environment.

Ability to effectively manage numerous files simultaneously.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.
