• Successful completion of a College program in Civil Engineering Technology or related technical discipline OR an acceptable combination* of education, training or experience.
*Acceptable combination* is defined as:
Two years of post-secondary education and training in any field that relates to the position.
OR one year of post-secondary education in a civil engineering technical field with a minimum of one years' experience in a civil engineering technical field.
Recent experience in inspecting and evaluating condition of facilities.
Recent experience in preparing tender packages.
Recent experience in the design of structures.
Recent experience in conducting construction site inspections, monitoring contractor progress, and inspecting the quality and phasing of the work to ensure compliance with the requirements.
Recent Experience: within the last 2 years.

Knowledge of cost estimation methods.
Knowledge of codes, standards, and specifications related to marine construction.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety issues as they relate to asset condition inspections and construction practices.

The ability to understand and interpret the requirements of users, provide timely advice to management, and resolve unique problems.

Experience in preparing construction and planning drawings using design software such as AutoCAD, Eagle Point, Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads or other three dimensional software packages.
Operational Requirements:
Willing and able to work overtime as required, sometimes on short notice.
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Willing and able to travel as required, via automobile, aircraft and/or boat.
Willing and able to travel to remote locations.
Willing and able to work in a marine environment.
Willing and able to respond to work situations after hours and on weekends at short notice.
