Duties

Job Description:
The position is responsible for:
1. Assists in quality control activities as specified for the forensic analyses conducted;
2. Assists in the maintenance, calibration and operation of scientific instruments and equipment;
3. Assists in the ordering of materials and prepares reagents for laboratory analyses;
4. Responsible for general laboratory duties and clerical duties
communities.

Education:
A minimum of a three year diploma in toxicological technology, or chemical technology, or biochemical technology from a recognized Canadian institution.

Degree equivalency

Knowledge:
1. Working knowledge of general laboratory techniques.

Special Requirements/Abilities:
1. Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
3. Demonstrated effective problem solving skills.
4. Demonstrated effective team work.

Reliability Status security clearance - This factor is no used at the pre-selection stage. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is responsible for the security clearance process.

Medical Requirements: FLI-FSLT-02 medical profile. This factor is no used at the pre-selection stage.The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is responsible for the medical clearance process.

Training: Candidates will be required to successfully complete the understudy training for the Toxicology Program.

An interview will be administered.
