Candidates MUST provide a cover letter with concrete and detailed examples which clearly demonstrate how they meet each of the education and experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications section AS WELL AS any applicable asset qualifications. An effective approach would be to use the wording of each experience criterion as a heading and then write one or two paragraphs demonstrating, with clear and accurate details, how you meet each of them. The curriculum vitae will be used as a secondary source to validate the information described in the cover letter. You will be required to submit examples of previous publications to demonstrate how your experience meets the essential qualifications for the EX04 criteria required for the position. An email will be sent at a later date with more details.
This process will be used to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Ottawa, Ontario.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the Health Portfolio with:

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics AND a specialization in epidemiology or public health or another relevant health discipline.
Notes:
Candidates must always have a degree.
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but do not necessarily have to be part of a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
Experience supporting multi-disciplinary committees
Experience in designing and conducting systematic reviews
Experience presenting research information in the area of chronic or communicable disease prevention.
Experience writing clinical or public health practice guidelines.
Note:
*Experience means having the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of the duties for a minimum period of two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.

Graduation with a PhD degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field.
Having at least one published scientific paper in a peer reviewed journal or conference.
Experience of methodological approaches to clinical practice guideline development ( ex. Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE))
