EDUCATION:
Ed1 - A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of experience, education and/or training relevant to the position.
EXPERIENCE:
Ex1 - Experience working in a high pressure or high volume security environment.
Ex2 - Experience managing and responding to emergency situations
Ex3 - Experience providing client service?
Ex4 - Experience operating computer software, such as, Microsoft Office Suite Applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint or electronic tracking systems.
ASSET EDUCATION:
AEd1 - Successful completion of post-secondary education in law enforcement or security
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEx1 - Experience preparing security incident reports
AEx2 - Experience working with electronic security systems such as closed circuit video equipment (CCVE) intrusion detection, access control systems or alarm systems.
AEx3 - Experience operating multiple systems simultaneously such as a security console
AEx4 - Experience liaising with first responders such as police, RCMP, Ambulance and Fire.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
OR1 - Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
OR2 - Willingness and ability to patrol on foot or in a vehicle the perimeter of the buildings even during inclement weather.
CONDITION(S) OF EMPLOYMENT
CE1 - Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts of up to 12 hours per day, including; nights, weekends and designated holidays.
CE2 - Possession of a valid class-G (Ontario) or Class 5 (Quebec) driver’s license.
CE3 - Secret security clearance.
Depending on the number of applicants, Department needs and HR plans, volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach, and/or cut-off scores MAY be used for the purpose of managing applications/candidates.
Reference checks may be sought.
An interview may be administered.
A written examination may be administered.

In the case of an acting appointment, the Public Service Employment Regulations enables the organization to exclude the appointee from respecting official language proficiency when the department is unable to fill the position with an appointment of a person who meets the language proficiency qualification. Therefore, we would encourage all to apply, in the event the organization is unable to fill the position with an appointment of a person who meets the language proficiency, others may be considered.
Candidates who have been fully assessed and found to have met all essential qualifications except official language requirements may update their second-language evaluation (SLE) results for as long as the pool is/pools are valid. N.B.: Each candidate can only undergo SLE testing one time within the context of an appointment process; any update to a candidate's linguistic profile must be as a result of subsequent SLE testing done outside of this appointment process.
