The intent of this process is to fill a position on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates could be created and could be used to fill similar or identical positions with various tenure, security clearance or linguistic requirement. The pool of candidates could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or transfers.

EDUCATION :
- Successful completion of three years of an acceptable post-secondary college program (e.g. community college, CÉGEP) in Electronics Engineering Technology or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE :
- Experience designing, developing, and testing electronic systems or subsystems.
- Experience in software development using one of C/C++/C#.
- Experience in RF signal/component analysis using laboratory instrumentation.
EDUCATION :
- Courses in Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave theory and measurement techniques.

KNOWLEDGE :
- Knowledge of principles of analog and digital electronic circuits and systems.
- Knowledge of hardware and software tools for the development of circuits within programmable logic devices, schematic capture and PCB design.
- Knowledge of software tools for the development of Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), control of instrumentation and data collection.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS :
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze, resolve and document problems.
- Ability to work under pressure (including time and limited resources).
- Ability to understand and evaluate specifications, datasheets and characteristics of electronic equipment and components.
PERSONAL SUITABILITY :

EXPERIENCE :
- A minimum four years work experience as an electronics technologist.
- Experience in the use of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
- Experience executing laboratory or field trials of electronic systems.
- Experience designing and constructing custom electronic circuits for testing and troubleshooting electronic systems and subsystems.
- Experience developing software for interfacing electronic equipment with computers running various operating systems.
- Experience in software development for automated laboratory measurement and data acquisition.
- Experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and assembly.
KNOWLEDGE :
- Knowledge of processes and procedures related to the operation and maintenance of a laboratory.
- Knowledge of microcontroller programming tools.
- Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and assembly.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS :
- Evidence of writing or contributing to published documents.
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS :

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Participation in outdoor field trials. This could include an occasional requirement to work in remote locations, on aircraft, ships or military ground vehicles.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Occasional requirement to work overtime, especially during trials.
- Occasional requirement to lift equipment and materials that can weigh up to 25 kg.
- Occasional requirement to climb towers and negotiate physically demanding passageways.

- Security: Department of National Defence (DND) Enhanced Reliability.
- Ability to obtain and retain a DND Secret (Level II) security clearance.
