You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of secondary school; or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

Experience providing administrative support services

Experience using word processing software such as Microsoft Word

Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience providing administrative support within a comparable policing environment

Experience with emergency support services such as providing support for emergency calls, emergency medical response services, or community emergency response teams

Experience using the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC)

Experience using the Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS)

Experience interpreting and processing court documents

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates from outside the federal public service may be required to pay for all assessment, travel and relocation expenses.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates.

The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Reliability Status. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.

A test may be administered.
