Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions elsewhere in the Department with similar requirements.

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM) for similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term or indeterminate basis.

Candidates from outside the federal public service will be required to pay for their own travel (including travel for assessment purposes), and may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience with delivering projects to acquire, build, lease, or renovate real property
Experience with developing and overseeing relationships with clients
Experience in managing contracts and administering the delivery of services
Experience with managing real property asset(s) to achieve portfolio strategies

Successful completion of a degree, diploma, or certificate, or a combination of experience and education in facilities or real property management or project management such as:

- Certified Property Manager (CPM)
- Certified Administrator
- BOMI Real Property Administrator (RPA)
- BOMI Facilities Management Administrator (FMA)
- IFMA Certified Facilities Manager (CFM)

Degree equivalency

Experience in reviewing construction drawings and technical specifications
Experience in managing financial resources

Candidate must be willing and able to work in and around construction sites, including wearing protective clothing/ footwear
Candidate must be willing to travel and work overtime, as required.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of a valid driver’s license
Willingness to travel within Canada, including remote locations accessed by small aircraft or boat
