Manage the National Ship’s Health Officer Program for Canadian Coast Guard with a financial budget and human resources activities.
Manage the recruitment, selection, supervision and orientation of all Ships’ Health Officer onboard CCG vessels.
Provide professional nursing expertise, advice and guidance.
Provide timely advice regarding the relevant Canadian Coast Guard national policies and standards and procedures for approving and requisitioning pharmaceutical, controlled substances and medical supplies.
Provide advice and consultation to CCG senior management.
The intent of this selection process is to staff (1) indeterminate bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position in Montréal.
A pool of qualified candites will be established from this advertised process which may be used to fill similar positions with various language requirements, tenures and security requirements.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.
Possession of a current and valid registration to practice nursing and be a member in good standing of a nursing professional order, in a Canadian province or territory.
Experience in managing the recruitment, selection, supervision, scheduling, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
Experience identifying and creating processes and procedures related to the delivery and the evaluation of a nursing program.
Experience providing advice and recommendations to senior management.

Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (current and valid PHCNP registration and be a member in good standing in a Canadian province or territory).
Experience administering a national nursing program, including its financial or human resources activities.
Experience providing nursing expertise, advice and guidance onboard arctic vessels.
Ability to interpret professional standards in relation to nursing practices on arctic vessels.
Willingness to work overtime and to travel using various modes of transportation.
Reliability Status security clearance
