Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis with a linguistic profile of Bilingual imperative BBB/BBB as well as an RCMP security requirement of Reliability.

A pool of candidates may be established inclusive of Public Service (PS) employees and Civilian Members (CM); and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Should a Public Service (PS) employee be found qualified and selected for appointment, notification regarding the PS appointment will be posted accordingly on www.jobs.gc.ca.

Education
► Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Engineering.

Degree equivalency

Experience
► Significant and recent* experience in managing projects involving the design/construction of buildings, repair works including review of proposals, construction project planning, overseeing architectural designs, resource control, financial management and contract administration.
► Significant and recent* experience in managing and developing project requirements and architectural/engineering reports, conducting studies and assessing infrastructure renewal initiatives.
► Significant and recent* experience in analysing building systems.
► Experience in leading teams of engineering and technical specialists.
► Experience in preparing managerial and technical reports including cost-benefit analysis.

*Significant and recent experience in this context is that which would normally be acquired over a period of at least 5 years in a professional engineering capacity within the past 10 years.

Accreditation
► Accreditation as a Professional Engineer in Canada
► Accreditation as a Project Management Professional
