A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada and in the Public Service, with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various linguistic requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, and Bilingual (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements (reliability, secret), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position such as computer science, earth sciences, forestry, geography or mathematics.
Experience in analysing large datasets in a scientific environment.
Experience in using computer programming languages for scientific modelling.

Advanced Science degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field of Natural or Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, or another science relevant to the position.
Experience in contributing to scientific reports, papers and publications.
Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems including ESRI and open sources software.
Knowledge of linear programming and optimization.
Knowledge of forestry, ecology and wildfire science.
