Duties

The resource will plan and conduct reviews of privacy impact assessments and/or privacy audits; provide related advice and guidance to OPC management and institutions regarding findings, risk management and risk mitigation based upon privacy legislation, best practices and federal government requirements relating to data protection and risk management.

Intent of the process

This process may be used to establish a pool of candidates that may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various official language proficiency (Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, Bilingual Imperative CCC/CCC, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, English Essential) various security profiles (reliability, secret, top secret), various tenures (indeterminate, specified period) using various staffing activities (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment) for positions with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Public Service in the National Capital Region.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience conducting research and analysis on complex matters related to organizational practices, technologies or legislation.

- Experience in providing advice and recommendations on policy or compliance matters.

- Experience in drafting formal written material such as reports, briefing notes, external correspondence and presentations.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in working with officials from federal government departments or other levels of government.

- Experience in analyzing information management systems from a privacy and security perspective.

- Experience in conducting reviews, audits or investigations.

- Experience in the interpretation or application of legislation and regulations, particularly relating to the Privacy Act, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, human or other rights-related issues.
