Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY STAFFING. This advertisement is for an inventory to fill future vacancies. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff future vacancies on an indeterminate, term, and/or acting basis. As positions become available, hiring managers may request referrals from the inventory. A random selection will be used at any time during the process to identify which applicants from the Inventory will be assessed.

Pool could be used for acting appointments under exceptional circumstances to protect employee's indeterminate status.

A covering letter in 5,000 words (maximum) "~VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE~ It is your responsibility as a candidate to submit a cover letter, which clearly outlines how you meet each of the screening qualifications (i.e. Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Assets) as well as a CV which is linked to the information in your cover letter. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that you meet the qualifications or to provide a listing of current or past task descriptions. Rather you must provide concrete examples, which illustrate how you meet each qualification. One suitable approach is to use each screening qualification as a heading, and provide a detailed description on how that qualification is met. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial or territorial standards or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.)

Degree equivalency

Experience in providing administrative support services such as reception duties, mail handling, preparing correspondence and/or reports and/or filing.
Experience using databases for the purpose of data analysis, manipulation, verification & retrieval.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Post-secondary education in office administration, information technology, accounting, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

Experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
Experience using an e-mail system.
Experience in sorting and delivering incoming and outgoing mail, and handling couriered items.
Experience creating spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
