The immediate intent of this poster is to fill three indeterminate (permanent) positions. One is located in Gull Bay, ON and two positions are located in Wabaseemoong (Whitedog), ON.
Nurses will be required to work and live in the community from Monday to Friday. Accommodations will be provided.
A government vehicle will be supplied for the commute from:
Kenora, Ontario to the Wabaseemoong First Nation (Whitedog)
Thunder Bay, Ontario to Gull Bay, Ontario.
A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various linguistic profiles, security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (such as Indeterminate, Specified Period, Deployment, Acting, Assignment, and Secondment).
You must clearly demonstrate in your answers to the screening questions HOW you meet the essential education and experience and any applicable asset education and experience factors listed. You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Education:
Graduation with a degree in nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution*
*Recognized post-secondary institution: Public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
Occupational Certification:
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in Ontario.
Experience:
Experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years recent* post-graduation nursing experience, at least one of which is in acute care (excluding long-term or palliative care).
Recent* is defined as within the last 3 years
Experience:
• Experience in community health programs
• Experience in Urgent or Emergency Care
• Experience in computer basics such as word processing, spread sheets, email, internet etc.

• Current valid registration as a Registered Nurse with CNO and a member in good standing
• Willingness to travel extensively to communities in remote and isolated areas of Ontario

• Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position
