Education:
Bachelor of Science from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in physical geography, biology, earth science, environmental sciences, toxicology or other sciences related to the position.
PC-02 and PC-03:
- *Significant experience conducting sample collection, data analysis and reviewing environmental studies to address specific environmental issues and risks related to contaminated sites.
- *Significant experience in planning and conducting Phase 1-3 Environmental Site Assessments and/or risk assessment in the field to address specific environmental issues and risk related to contaminated sites.
- Experience in project management.
*Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally gained over 5 years.
PC-03 Only:
- Experience in the management and delivery of a contaminated sites program.
- Experience in the management of human and financial resources.
Master’s Degree

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Canadian and BC Provincial acts, regulations, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures related to assessment and management of contaminated sites.
- Knowledge of the principals of chemical transport and fate in the environment.
- Knowledge of the principals of toxicology.
Abilities:
- Ability to communicate scientific and technical data effectively verbally
- Ability to communicate scientific and technical data effectively in writing
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Operational Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to work overtime
- Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours
Reliability Status security clearance
- Requirement to travel using various modes of transportation including but not limited to: logging road via automobile, boat, plane, helicopter in order to access remote sites throughout the Pacific Region.
- Requirement to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when participating in site visits throughout the region.
- Physically able to work in rugged environmental conditions and terrains.
