Work environment

Canada, along with many other countries around the world, is committed to finding innovative solutions to historically important and significantly complex environmental challenges. As such, the Government of Canada through Budget 2017 has put into action key initiatives to support clean technology as a priority sector, proposing more than $2.2 billion under its Innovation and Skills Plan to support clean technology research, development, demonstration and adoption as well as to accelerate the growth of clean technology companies.

This support will accelerate the development and use of clean technology in Canada, from early stage R&D through to commercialization and adoption. Ultimately, these efforts are intended to culminate into technologically innovative solutions to address some of our most pressing environmental challenges. Not only will these solutions help Canada meet our climate goals, they will showcase Canada as a global leader in terms of science and technology, while simultaneously increasing our international market potential.
